2. Description of Service

Ocean Sentinels is a coastal safety and hazard reporting platform developed under the Digital India initiative. The platform enables:

• Real-time ocean hazard reporting by citizens
• Incident management and coordination for rescue teams
• Oversight and monitoring for government authorities
• Public access to coastal safety analytics and alerts

3. User Accounts

Users may register for accounts with different roles (Public, Rescue Team, Authority, Administrator). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account.

4. User Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and truthful information when filing reports
• Do not submit false or misleading hazard reports
• Respect the emergency nature of the platform and use it responsibly
• Keep your account credentials secure and not share them
• Report any unauthorized access to your account immediately

5. Data Collection & Privacy

We collect personal information including name, email, phone number, and location data to provide our services. Location data may be collected automatically with your permission to assist with hazard reporting and rescue coordination. All data is handled in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and applicable Indian data protection laws.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, design, logos, and materials on Ocean Sentinels are the property of the platform and the Government of India. Users retain ownership of their submitted reports but grant Ocean Sentinels a license to use, display, and share this information for emergency response purposes.

7. Limitation of Liability

Ocean Sentinels provides information and coordination tools on an "as-is" basis. While we strive for accuracy and reliability, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service or the accuracy of all information. The platform is not a substitute for calling emergency services (112, 1554) in life-threatening situations.

8. Emergency Services Disclaimer

Ocean Sentinels is a supplementary tool for coastal safety. In case of immediate danger, always contact emergency services directly. Response times may vary based on location, network availability, and rescue team availability.

9. Prohibited Activities

• Filing false emergency reports
• Attempting to gain unauthorized access to the system
• Interfering with the platform's operation
• Using the platform for commercial purposes without authorization
• Impersonating rescue teams, authorities, or other users

10. Modifications to Terms

Ocean Sentinels reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in New Delhi, India.
